We’re childbirth educators, not psychics.

We can’t tell you exactly how your experience becoming parents will play out. What we can do is try to prepare you for all the different scenarios and hope that you find some advice or knowledge that we passed along to you and are able to implement that, find solace in knowing it’s normal, or simply know that someone else has experienced the same thing as you. We know a LOT about what you’re about to go through and our job is to ensure you’re ready for it.

Everyone’s experience will be unique. Like a patchwork baby blanket, with its own intricate details. This is the beauty, and the complexity, of having a baby and becoming a new parent.

We haven’t yet perfected our powers of being able to look at a couple and predict if the birth will be fast, if someone will get an epidural, if breastfeeding will go well or if their baby will sleep well or not. What we do know is that everyone will have an experience that teaches them something. There will always be both wonderful and simple mixed with difficult and complicated. It almost goes without saying, but we’ll say it anyway.

This whole birth and babies thing-it’s not always easy.

In fact, it’s almost never “easy”. We didn’t experience it as easy and from our time spent working with hundreds of new families, we know that for most people, it’s not easy.

Giving birth to a baby will force you to be strong, patient, and connected to yourself and your partner. You will experience physical and emotional states that you didn’t even know could exist. A week or two after your baby arrives will be some of the rawest, and most bare moments of your life. And we’re not just talking about your breasts if you’re nursing.

Having a baby can really knock you onto your ass. For real! And as childbirth educators, we want you to know that it’s okay.

If that’s what you’re experiencing, we want to prepare you for the reality that this is completely normal. It’s what we prepare each and every couple for. The realities of being a new parent. We don’t want to sugarcoat it because we know that YOU want the truth.

Real Life Prenatal Education. We’re not psychics but we have the information and knowledge that you’ll need on your journey to becoming parents.
